There are essentially four classifications of a business for IRS purposes.  You can be a sole proprietor, a partnership (LLC), an S-Corporation, or a C-Corporation.  All of these except the sole proprietor require their own tax return.  This means you need an accurate representation or your revenues and expenses relating to your business in order to generate an income tax return.
